Our Wines

Varieties:
Vineyards: Shoresh, “ Saddle’s terrace”, “Upper waddi”
Vinification: light pressing after destemming; debourbage; alcoholic fermentation conducted in old barrels resulting in a stormy but tight “wals des barriques”; checking malolactic fermentation; topping the barrels and frequent battonage.
A matter of taste: a third of the blend is Oseleta resulting in a slightly more pink color, and introducing tastes of fruits from the north, refreshing acidity, fleshy and muscular body.

About Us

All our wines are blends. Each plot and grape variety ferments separately, so I get to know the wine of each plot before blending. This is the secret of the "really old world" style, where varieties are not on the front label.  Agur does not have a "flagship" wine. Like with children I try not to have a preference. They are all special.

Rosa is a unique Rose, fermented in old casks. Kessem and Special Reserve are Bordeaux style blends. Layam is a special blend of Syrah and Mourvedre. Karka is a variety called Oseleta, indigenous to Valpolicella.
